The Whangarei District Council supports community groups for a variety of events, amenities and services through our community funding scheme.
They want to hear from not-for-profit community organisations who are working to benefit our communities of place, of people and of interest.
If you need support with a project or activity that is helping to create a vibrant, attractive and thriving District, the following Funds may assist you.
- Community Fund (Round 1, 2018-19) – This Fund is available for a wide variety of projects and events including festivals, workshops, working bees, facility improvements, and minor capital purchases. For grants up to $10,000. Closes 3 September 2018.
- Performing Arts Fund – This Fund is to support major performing arts events in the district. We want to encourage performing artists to the district, and support performances and events that may not otherwise occur, for the benefit of the wider community. For grants up to $5,000. Closes 3 September 2018.
- Creative Communities Scheme (Round 1, 2018-19) – This Scheme supports local community groups in creating opportunities for access and participation in arts activities in all its forms. We administer this Scheme on behalf of Creative New Zealand. For grants up to $10,000. Closes 27 August 2018.
Application forms are available at www.wdc.govt.nz/funding.
