Channel North TV is one of New Zealand’s regional Channels broadcasting from 2008 in the Whangarei central and surrounding areas and online. In 2013 all TV stations in New Zealand switched to digital broadcast, and they now broadcast via digital terrestrial, are on freeview terrestrial as well as broadcast online. Their mandate is a Community focus (Your Community Voice) and they work with, work for and train various Community groups, students and local and Northland businesses in programme creation.
Channel North is governed by the Northland Charitable Television Trust, with a current Board and two co-Chairs. Current Board members come from a variety of local backgrounds including Iwi, Community, Education and Business representation
The Team are multi-skilled in all areas of Production. From research, concept design, news gathering, presenting, filming, editing and post production to Transmission. They encourage, engage and teach community about media.
