ArtBeat is Northland’s largest FREE Interactive Arts Festival open to the whole community. 
The 27th iteration was held this year – 2024 –  in the Whangārei Town Basin
ArtBeat is a community initiative with over 500 of Northlands Artists and Creatives collaborating to make this event possible!
ArtBeat welcomes EVERYONE to try their hand at arts and creativity free of charge. 
ArtBeat is an annual celebration with the next event happening early 2025.

VOLUNTEERS

Creative Northland is always looking for awesome volunteers to help out! This is a great opportunity to get some experience on your CV at a fun event.

The duties may include Set up and Pack down, Face Painting, Storytelling and helping with interactive art activities. The general assistance tasks may include pack in and pack out (setting up tables, chairs, gazebos and more), assisting the stage manager, traffic management, surveying, zero waste, stall holder assistant and more!

ArtBeat 2024 Programme

ArtBeat 2024 was held on Sat 24th Feb and was an unforgettable celebration of Creativity, Art, Culture, and Community. ArtBeat is Northland’s largest interactive Arts Festival, welcoming the entire community to indulge and participate in a range of whānau friendly, creative and artistic wonders – free of charge. 
 
With a diverse array of artistic displays, live performances, interactive arts zones, immersive workshops, food and craft stalls spanning across Whangārei’s waterfront, there’s something for everyone, from curious toddlers to music-loving teens, creatives and art enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
