Creative Northland and the Quest Hotel present ‘Awhe’ an Autumn exhibition showcasing new works from emerging to mid-tier and established artists – all of them local. The exhibition opens tonight Thursday 4th April, 5pm at the Quest Art Space cnr Bank and Cameron Streets.
A wide range of styles and disciplines showcasing an eclectic and diverse body of works have been hang on the walls of the thoroughfare into the Quest Hotel featuring works by – Aaron Hoskins, Karel Kaio, Kym Marsden, Rodrigo Rozas, Jamaica Tata, Ngaraiti Smith, Virginia Guy, James O’Shea & Rapana Maihi.
The Autumn exhibition opens from 4th April to 2nd of May 2019 with each of the artists taking shifts to man the space throughout the exhibiting period. Take up the chance to visit the space and discuss the artworks with the artists one on one.
The Quest Art Space is a collaboration between Creative Northland and the Quest Hotel Whangarei. Creative Northland administers the space, rotating artworks every two months, programming up to 6-8 exhibitions a year. All works are for sale.
Hinurewa te Hau, Creative Northlands General Manager says, ‘we support visual artists through providing a low cost exhibition space and curation support. It is set up as a community art space targeting emerging and mid-tier artists to display artworks for free, with a low commission rate’.
