Whangarei Quarry Gardens in the heart of the Western Hills of Whangarei, sees the return of Sculpture Northland from Friday 3rd of November until Sunday the 12th. The biennial event provides a wonderful platform for local artists to exhibit their work in the stunning natural landscape of the subtropical Gardens amongst waterfalls and the lakeside.
The event gives the 40 contributing local artists a superb opportunity to show the greater community their diversity, passion and sell their works, with over 70% of the art featured in the last exhibition sold, demonstrating what a vibrant arts culture we have right here in Northland.
What better place to do this than Whangarei Quarry Gardens, one of Whangarei’s greatest treasures.
The wonderful Garden volunteers have been working overtime to prepare a great array of plants for this year’s Plant Sale to be held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th. This is always a favourite for local visitors, and a great chance to meet the people behind the scenes at the Gardens.
This is the major annual fundraiser for Whangarei Quarry Gardens and as such they are always interested in attracting new sponsors and patrons to continue the growth of this exhibition.
Creative Northland will be supporting this incredible initiative by sponsoring the People’s Choice Award so don’t forget to vote for your favourite piece! The Gardens are a labour of love and rely on donations and the hard work of volunteers, making it a true community project. For more information go to our website www.whangareigardens.org.nz
