Both ĀKAU and Te Ora Hou are looking for people to join their teams, see below for more details
ĀKAU are looking to grow their ĀKAU whānau in the new year and are on the hunt for a Workshop Facilitator. The role is outlined here but here is a brief description:
“ĀKAU’s Workshop Facilitator will assist in the planning and facilitation of creative youth workshops. They will work in a tight (positive!) team environment to ensure relevant and contextual workshops are delivered within Kaikohe and the surrounding communities of Te Tai Tokerau. We are looking for an adaptable facilitator with a passion for youth education and development. This role requires strong communication skills, with previous experience working in youth or community development being an advantage as well as knowledge on Kaupapa Māori, tikanga and Te Reo. Our workshops are focused on hands-on, project based, innovative learning. This means that sometimes we are required to get involved in the creation of a community project, or helping young people work through the design process – so experience in the creative field would be an advantage. This could range from experience in design, architecture, graphic design, music, arts etc. but is not essential.”
